Workers to star at Estadio Nacional

It may not be the pitch that will be used at the next FIFA World Cup™, though anyone who visits the construction works taking place at the Estadio Nacional de Brasilia will already be able to get an idea of what the new playing surface – set to appear within a few months – will be like.
Indeed, the workers toiling on the stadium’s construction have laid a small pitch in order to play their own private league, thus giving them the opportunity to be the first ‘stars’ to shine at the Estadio Nacional.
This stadium is set to host the opening game of the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup and seven matches at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, one of which will feature the Brazilian national team as well as the match for third place. The construction process is moving forward, and work has already begun on installing the final tier of the stands.
